A Few Tips

·         RR stands for Register Rewards.  These are coupons that will print out at the
end of your transaction.  If you plan carefully, you can use RR from one transaction
to entirely pay for your next transaction.  I normally buy all my products that will
give me RR first and then come back for another transaction later and pay with the
RR from the first transaction.  Please note that you cannot have more coupons than
items, so plan accordingly or buy cheap “fillers” like chewing gum or individual
toilet paper rolls.

·         The “Final Price” in this listing takes the RR discount, even though you will not be using it during that transaction.  It reflects the net price of that item.

·         Most printable coupon sites will require that you download a “coupon printer” the first time you use them.  This is a safe download that simply tracks how many times you’ve printed.  Most coupons will allow you to print two copies (this is usually done by hitting the Back button on your browser and refreshing the page after the first copy prints).  If you have more than one computer in your house, it can sometimes be advantageous to print two copies on each computer.

·         Remember that you can repeat a deal depending on how many coupons you have unless there is a limit on the number of items you can purchase.  For example, Wheat thins for $0.99 and you know of a $1 off printable coupon – if you have 3 computers in your house, you could print 6 coupons and buy 6 boxes for free!  BUT, Walgreens may have a restriction on the number of boxes you can buy at the $0.99 price, so be sure to look before you checkout.

·         There are many more deals posted on larger sites such as Southern Savers or Wild for Wags, these are just a sampling of what I think are the best deals available.

Thanks ya'll!

I really only get out to shop about once a week, because sometimes these trips take some planning!  But, had a great shopping day today, and once you see those dollars coming off, it makes it all worth it!

Trip 1: CVS

Items purchased: 12

Total price pre sales $45.48
Total discount due to advertised sales price $9.56
Total manufacturer's coupons $26.07
Total Out of Pocket (OOP) price $11.76
Left store with $13.98 ECB coupons
Net price of shop -$2.22 with tax
Total savings $35.63
78% savings!

I had to come up with 3 filler items because I had more coupons than items being purchased.  I had an epiphany and pulled out (2) B1G1free coupons for Starbucks DoubleShots.  They were $2.79 each, more than I would usually pay, but that was 2 coupons for 4 more items, so then I only needed 1 filler.  I treated myself to a magazine!
Major Score: I bought 2 cans of AirWick Aqua Mist and 2 cans of Lysol Neutra Air for $10.  After coupons and the $5 in ECB, all four items paid me back $0.50!

Trip 2: CVS (different store)

It was a little scary buying items of such a higher value than I normally do, but the end result on this trip is that I have enough high quality facial moisturizer to last me for a very long time, and it all ends up being free, so I don’t feel guilty about the splurge!

Items purchased 8

Total price pre sales $56.40
Total discount due to advertised sales price $8.60

Total CVS coupons $3.00
Total manufacturer's coupons $20.99
Prior ECB coupons $13.98 (from trip 1 today)
Total Out of Pocket (OOP) price $13.54
Left store with $6 ECB coupons
Net price of shop $7.54 with tax
Total savings $46.57
83% savings!

I scanned my ECB card at the coupon center when I entered the store and received a coupon for $3 off any Dove Milk or Dark Chocolate candy, so I found a large Milk Chocolate with Toffee bar for $2.79.  FREE chocolate, yum!
Major Score: I bought (2) Oil of Olay Age Defying moisturizers for $19.98.  I had a coupon that if you buy 2 moisturizers, you get an Olay Reginerist Eye Roller for FREE.  The eye roller was worth $18.99 (on sale).  I also had (2) $1.00 off coupons for the moisturizers.  I have a mail-in rebate form that will send me $10 when you buy $20 worth of Oil of Olay.  So, I got $40 worth of good moisturizer for $7.98!

Trip 3: Walgreens

This was just a quick trip to pick up some items for some Register Rewards (i.e. free or close to free) for my next trip.

Items purchased: 6

Total price pre sales $22.05
Total discount due to advertised sales price $6.71
Total discount Walgreens in-store coupon$0.38
Total manufacturer's coupons $2.00
Total Out of Pocket (OOP) price $14.06
Left store with $9 register rewards coupons
Net price of shop $5.06 with tax
Total savings $9.09
41% savings!

Like I said, this trip was basically to get the RR for my next trip, but I got some great clinical strength hand lotion and Carmex lip balm.
Major Score: I didn’t have a coupon for them, but the clerk talked me into two bags of M&M pretzels for $0.50 each, and they are so good!

Trip 4: Walgreens

This was the trip that I planned on stocking up on several great things for cheap or free!

Items purchased: 13

Total price pre sales $76.46
Total discount due to advertised sales price $29.53
Total discount Walgreens in-store coupon$2.00
Total manufacturer's coupons $25.00
Total Out of Pocket (OOP) price $12.57
Left store with $5 register rewards coupons
Net price of shop $7.57 with tax
Total savings $56.53
74% savings!

I needed a few filler items to even out my item to coupon ratio and I went a little overboard.  But I did get 23oz cans of Arizona Tea for $0.50 each and I found an awesome zip-up binder to hold out my coupons for only $4.99, regularly $15!
Major Score: I bought (2) Schick Intuition razors for $9.99 each.  Walgreens had them on a Buy 1 Get 1 free special, plus I had (2) $4.00 off 1 coupons.  I got the razors for $1.01 each!

All this took me about an hour, they were quick in and out shops.  So, you could say that I made $147.82 an hour today!  How's that for proof!?!

Thanks ya'll!

A Few Tips

·      ECB stands for Extra Care Bucks.  These are rewards that can be used like cash on future transactions.  You must register and receive a rewards card, and make sure that your cashier scans the card first before every transaction.  ECB will print out in the form of a coupon at the end of your transaction (you also receive a 2% bonus at the end of each quarter).  If you plan carefully, you can use ECB from one transaction to entirely pay for your next transaction.  I normally buy all my products that will give me ECB first and then come back for another transaction later and pay with the ECB from the first transaction.  Please note that you cannot have more coupons than items, so plan accordingly or buy cheap “fillers” like chewing gum or individual toilet paper rolls.

·         The “Final Price” in this listing takes the ECB discount, even though you will not be using it during that transaction.  It reflects the net price of that item.

·
Most printable coupon sites will require that you download a “coupon printer” the first time you use them.

·
Remember that you can repeat a deal depending on how many coupons you have unless there is a limit on the number of items you can purchase.  For example, Wheat thins for $0.99 and you know of a $1 off printable coupon – if you have 3 computers in your house, you could print 6 coupons and buy 6 boxes for free!  BUT, CVS may have a restriction on the number of boxes you can buy at the $0.99 price, so be sure to look before you checkout.  Most ECB deals are a limit of one.

·
There are many more deals posted on larger sites such as Hip2Save  or A Full Cup, these are just a sampling of what I think are the best deals available.

·           Also remember that you can “stack” coupons when you have more than one type.  This means if you have a CVS coupon, you can ALSO use a manufacturer’s coupon.  And, to avoid problems, always present your coupons in this order to the cashier: money off store coupons (ex. $4 off $20 purchase), CVS store coupons, manufacturer coupons, then Extra Care Bucks.

Thanks ya'll!

For those of you taking advantage of the great deals from CVS lately, they have added to the pot - a $4 off $20 coupon for free!  Just enter your CVS Extra Care card number (found on the back of your card) and email address, and they will send you the coupon in email!  This is a GREAT way to turn those freebie items into moneymakers!  Can you believe it? They pay you to take the items!

CLICK HERE to sign up for the coupon. (Thanks Becentsable!)

Thanks ya'll!

A friend of mine (thanks Jules!) shared this site with me on Facebook and I just had to share!  So far all of my deals have gotten you cheap or free food for yourself or other humans.  Now, with a click of a button, you can get free food and much needed care to a rescued animal!

Here’s how it works:

Each day, click on the purple “Click here to Give – it’s FREE” button.  Site sponsors pay for food and care by The Fund for Animals, the Petfinder foundation, North Shore Animal League, International Fund for Animal Welfare and other worthy animal rescue organizations.

Do this every day!  One click each day for a year will provide 200 bowls of food to hungry animals!  Remember to use your Outlook calendar tool to set a reminder, just like with the Instant Win games you should be playing!

CLICK HERE to go to the site, bookmark it, and click the button every day!

Thanks ya'll!

Sorry for the lack of posts as of late, hectic weekend.  I had intended to post about this week's grocery specials, but they weren't all that impressive and it's only a couple of days until the new specials are out.  That being said, I found out something wonderful today:

Beginning September 15th, Harris Teeter is offering SUPER DOUBLE COUPONS for a week!!

Super Double Coupons means that Harris Teeter will double a coupon up to $1.98 (regularly $0.99), up to 20 coupons per day!  This is the time that you should use up coupons between $1.50 to $1.98 off, because that will make your savings multiply!  I will find the best deals and post them early to help you plan your trip.

Also, had two money saving trips today:  CVS, total savings of $21.48 (paid $2.47!) and Lowes Foods, two weeks of groceries for $121.64, savings of $75.96!  Woo-hoo!  Brings my total savings to $329.24!

Thanks ya'll!

Ok, this one has a serious deadline...good for the next 1 hr 30 mins only.

Get $40 worth of Ed Hardy kids clothes for only $20!  This is a great deal, because they clothes are pretty expensive.

Here's what you have to do:

Sign up or Log In to Groupon. (if you don't have a Groupon account, that's a post for another day, just go HERE to sign up and trust me, it's worth it. I'll tell ya why later!)

Under Visit More Cities, choose Sioux Falls (don't worry, it's an online deal).  You can buy more than one to give as gifts!!

HURRY - this expires very soon! (thanks Good Deal Mama!)

Thanks ya'll!

A Few Tips

·      Some stores do not like to use coupons on travel sizes, even if the coupon has
no size restrictions. It is worth the try however, and you are totally in the right to
do it as the manufacturer will still reimburse the store for the price.

·         Please see the FAQ/Basics page on Totally Target for a good explanation of
Target's coupon policy as well as their price matching policy.

·         There are many more deals posted on larger sites such as Totally Target or
A Full Cup, these are just a sampling of what I think are the best deals available.

Thanks ya'll!
